Day 4 - My Parents

This post will be fun, I don't think I have ever talked about my parents on here! It only took over 300 posts and a 30 day challenge to bring up the topic. My parents have been married for 33 years and have lived in the suburbs of Philly since before I was born. They had my brother first, he will be 33 this month, and me, 24. Here is a recent picture of them with Brooke and Molly...

We'll start with my Dad. He is a 51 year old Italian man who has spent the last 26 years of his life working for Pepsi. How cool is that? I do not have the time to tell you about all the awesome things we were able to experience as children because of my dad's job. He also raised my brother and I with strong Christian values and I doubt I would be where I am today if he had chosen a different path for raising us. And now he gets to be a Papa to my two beautiful girls, my handsome little nephew, and another little one due in February [not from me readers!]. He is an awesome cook thanks to the time he spent working in his parents restaurant in his 20s, he loves to clean, he is super organized, and he loves to play video games in his spare time. Does this sound like an e-Harmony ad? Too bad ladies, he is taken!

On to Mom. My mom is a 50 year old Registered Nurse. She was mainly a stay at home mom to us in our younger years. When I was 4 or 5 she went back to school to get her nursing degree and currently works in a doctor's office. She has taught me all I know about being a wife and a mom. She used to have me stand on a step stool while she baked, she taught me how to sew, she taught me to love reading through her example, and one day she is going to teach me the secret to making her amazing homemade spaghetti gravy. When Brooke was born she came into town immediately and helped me survive my first week as a mother. She taught me how to bathe her, decipher her needs, treat heat rashes, and other random things. Now she gets to be a Nonna!

Your blog is fun! I found it by accident (while blog hopping), and I hope you won't mind if I "follow" you.

Jess, I had SO much fun with your parents when I was there....they are amazing :) This is the second year I have gotten to experience your mom's spaghetti gravy and it's not like anything I have ever tasted---so good! Now my next goal is to see you---seeing as how we live in the same state and everything! Miss you friend!
