That time I wrote a book

So as I said in another post, I wrote a book! This has been over a year in the making. My story has evolved several times into different places and ideas with similar characters. I even took two long writing breaks when I felt like my mind couldn't take it anymore. But it is FINISHED and it has been e-published with Amazon. This means that you can get it for your Kindle or a Kindle App [Apple and Droid products].

I would like to make it available for print by summer. There are a few spelling and grammar mistakes that me and my team of editors didn't manage to catch, so it is going through the ringer right now to be prepared for print.

It will also be available for Nook starting in April.

NOW I am choosing today to tell you this because for the next three days my book will be FREE! That's right, today through Saturday you can download and read it for free!

Any reviews you leave will be much appreciated, and I would love to hear your comments and feedback. I made a blog especially for my books http://jesspetosa.blogspot.com. You can also email me at jesspetosabooks@gmail.com.

Photography

See that over there? That is a POLL.

I know I have been vague about this photography thing and more of just "plugging" it. I think it is time I went a little deeper.

I have spent almost two years practicing, researching, and studying photography. I think that the beginning of a photography comes from a natural skill, something deep within you that knows just the right pose or that creative angle. You have to have it. But there is also skill building after that, which is what I've done. I had family and friends constantly encouraging me to taking it further that just my own girls and free sessions for friends. I decided that this summer would be THE summer.

I started a blog and a FB page, and have been working on my portfolio. The natural name for a photography business seems to be after the name of the photographer. I have a very common name, especially in my town. I changed it up a little with J.Miller Photography.

As I was building my portfolio I noticed that there is one specific door downtown that I am pulled to doing shoots. A simple, red door that I think might lead to an insurance agency, but I'm not sure. Here is a picture taken with that door, and I hope that there are many more to come!

The Sugar & Spice idea came from the fact that I have two girls and they pretty much define me most of the time. It is hard to remember that I am not only a mom 24/7. I have interests and passions and I matter. It is a cute name idea though.

Things I Love Tuesday

I should make a badge for this with my new mad photo shop skills. ;)

1. Body Pump. Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday I head to the gym for an hour long weight lifting class called Body Pump. It is AWESOME. We target all the major muscle areas and do each work out to different music tracks, most of which are current hits. For instance, we do our chest presses to Usher - DJ Got Us Fallin In Love.

I chose this picture strictly because of the lady's outfit. Could you imagine your instructor showing up and doing 60 squats in this?

2. Salsa Chicken. This stuff is heaven from the crockpot!

3. Sunshine! Last week there were a few days of sunshine, which was more that we could boast for most of Spring so far, and it got into the 80s! The girls and I were loving being outside, and I think I may have even got a small tan. I am kind of a stickler for sunscreen and lathered up, but apparently nothing short of a body suit can stop my Italian skin from darkening.

4. This PSA. Grab a tissue, it is tear worthy toward the middle.
