35 Weeks!

Sorry for the lack of posting. We have been on a mini-vacation and just got back, so I will be sure to post about that later. But today marks a very important day in my pregnancy. I am at 35/35. I am 35 weeks into my pregnancy and have 35 days left! [give or take a few]

Does this give you a hint to what we did this weekend?

Pregnancy: 35 Weeks

Weight Gain: I am not sure I want to know after this past weekend!

Sleep: I am getting much more uncomfortable and definitely wake up to use the bathroom multiple times a night.

Gender: Girl

Name: Molly Grace

Feeling: Uncomfortable

Health: Still doing well. Hopefully I will get a good report at my appointment on Thursday.

Movement: PAINFUL! Some of her movements make me stop in my tracks and twist and turn to try and get her to move.

Belly: Huge!

What I am looking forward to: Holding my baby girl.

What I miss: Non-swollen feet.

Man, it was hot... see all that frizz?

Summer-ish

This weekend we saw temperatures in the 80s here in Indiana so we decided to pull out the baby pools. I am very thankful for the time I have with Dustin on the weekends, and especially the time Brooke has with him. Weekdays are so rushed, especially in the evenings, and he is gone two nights for baseball practice. I also cannot imagine setting up the sprinkler pool and chasing Brooke around the yard 34 weeks pregnant.

34 Weeks

Pregnancy: 34 Weeks

Weight Gain: 30lbs so far, definitely passing my goals!

Sleep: It would be great if Brooke didn't wake up in the middle of the night and knock on her door loudly!

Gender: Girl

Name: Molly Grace

Feeling: Exhausted and ready!

Health: Still doing well as far as I know. We'll find out at my appointment on Wednesday.

Movement: She is so high it can be painful at times. She also spends most of her time transverse which can get pretty uncomfortable when she stretches out.

Belly: My stretch marks are starting to spread into new ones. Boo!

What I am looking forward to: Finishing the nursery and reaching full term.

What I miss: Margaritas. I think if you go back in my pregnancy posts this is my most missed item.

And just because I think this picture is hilarous...

Top 2 Tuesday

Top 2 things you want to do before you die

1. I want to take a 2 week tour of Italy and Greece. My family is from Italy so what better thing to do than visit my homeland! I would also like to actually leave the country and do something other than suntan in Mexico. Perhaps it will help me get over my fear of flying... either that or I will have a panic attack somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean.

2. I want to be a surrogate mother. Way for me to go all serious on this post, right?! There is really no gentle way to address the subject of infertility in a blog post. I love being pregnant. I feel heart broken for friends and family (and others) who have trouble having children of their own. Dustin and I currently feel like three is our limit but I would love to give the gift of a child to someone else someday down the road.

33 Weeks

Pregnancy: 33 Weeks

Weight Gain: 28lbs so far. I think I may pass my goal of 30.

Sleep: Doing great! I actually wake up on my belly most mornings, which I did not think was possible at this point.

Gender: Girl

Name: Molly Grace

Feeling: Tired. I worked this morning and was on my feet for 4 hours.

Health: So far so good! My BP was higher than normal but still in the normal range.

Movement: She is a rough little lady. Sometimes I think she is trying to kick her way out.

Belly: I have a good amount of stretch marks but I think they are all from when I had Brooke. With her I didn't get them until after she was born so I never got to see them stretch out. Boy are they scary!

Next Appointment: Wednesday, May 26th! My doctor wants to check me before I leave for Philly just to make sure I am fully approved for travel.

I end this post with an adorable picture...

32 Week Appointment

I had another OB appointment today. It boggles my mind that I am already going every two weeks but it won't be long until I am going once a week! I did my normal "get dressed in light clothing" routing to hide the fact that I ate cookie dough for dinner last night... and it worked! I only gained a little over a pound in two weeks, which is really good for me.

The biggest thing on our agenda today was the issue of me traveling to Philly in two weeks. I was asked to stand as a bridesmaid in a good friend's wedding and I couldn't find it in myself to opt out when I found out I was pregnant. I will be nearing my 35th week of pregnancy and if you weren't reading my blog back in 2008, I should probably tell you that I had Brooke at 36 weeks. So far my doctor feels mostly confident in my ability to hold Molly in for the wedding but nothing can be predicted. She is going to do an internal the day before we leave and give me the final word than.

Such a riveting blog entry, huh?!

Wish List Wednesday

Can we say super blogger this week?! I am on a roll!

As my due date draws closer I can think of a few baby items I would like. They are all selfish though and not completely necessary, just some extras I would like to have.

1. Skip Hop Studio diaper bag. I have always wanted a nice diaper bag but never really got around to picking one out. I had a decent one from Babies R' Us when Brooke was a newborn but eventually went to just using my purse. I am a minimalist! Now that we have a second baby on the way I think it is time for an upgrade. And for something that actually has pockets for sippy cups. Now if only I could pick which color I like best!

2. Ruffle Butt bloomers. I could totally picture Brooke and Molly in some matching ruffle butt diaper covers!

3. Ergo Carrier. Dustin and I decided against getting a double stroller right now. We are not sure if we want something that big and sometimes it is easier just to have Brooke walk holding our hands. I do however what a nice sturdy carrier for when we do need another option. With this carrier we could carry either child while the other rides in the stroller. It is also supposed to be really easy on your back, which I need!

Show Us Your Life : Names

Show Us Your Life with Kelly's Korner

I had to participate in today's topic!

If you have ever been pregnant and/or had a baby, you know how stressful it can be to pick a name. Okay, maybe not everyone worries about it the whole 9 months but I would bet most couples spend some time arguing over, I mean discussing, name options for their unborn child. There is the "I have had my favorite name picked out since childhood!" approach. The "We narrowed it down and this is the same he/she will be called." approach. And the "We'll just wait until we seem him/her to pick a name" approach.

Now on to our baby naming experience.

I have a feeling this is going to get long so I will just tell you know that if we do ever have a boy his name will be Chase Alan. We both love Chase and this is one name Dustin will tell you is not changing. I originally brought it up because it is the name of my favorite Phillies player, and it stuck. Alan is both Dustin's middle name and his dad's middle name!

With Brooke we made one simple mistake. We shared our name options with friends and family. Of course the normal, "Oh my gosh I love this name but that name sounds like something you would name a dog" speeches commenced and we became self conscious. We were told not to care about other people's opinions and to go with the name we loved, but I was getting anxious. Why did people care so much what we named OUR baby. They had a chance (or would have a chance) to name their babies, didn't we get the same courtesy?

Now people actually loved out first name option, Audrey Grace, but it got to a point where I felt like it was being pushed on us. "Oh Audrey Grace is a beautiful name, much better than the other names you have picked out." It got to be too much and by the time "Audrey" arrived, I couldn't do it. It wasn't a special name that Dustin and I had picked out anymore. It was a name that other people wanted for our little girl. So we ended up being the couple in the hospital with Baby Girl Miller on the hospital charts. The nurse came in at least 5 times to talk about the birth certificate and a day after her birth, I started panic. Luckily, Dustin was calm enough to come to the rescue.

I was sitting burping her after a feeding session and Dustin came and sat beside me. He looked down at her and said, "I think I know what her name is". I wanted to yell "Thank God SOMEONE does!" but quietly waited.

"I think she is a Brooke". And so it clicked. Brooke. I loved it and so did Dustin. I had to laugh because it was NOT on our final name list and I think Dustin even turned it down way back in my first trimester when I was name happy. Grace was my favorite middle name at the time but it did not flow with Brooke, so we chose to give her my middle name. Lynn.

Our beautiful Brooke Lynn.

Wow that got long. Are you still reading?

For Baby Sister we learned from our mistakes and did not share our name list with ANYONE. Okay, maybe I did share with a few close friends but I could count on them not to give me selfish opinions. Dustin definitely has opinions when it comes to baby names, but he waits for me to bring him a list and crosses the names off one by one. This time I gave him my four favorite girl names. We knew we couldn't use one of them because of a family conflict so that narrowed it down to three. I was strongly pushing one name and even though he does not love it a much as I do, he finally agreed that it would be Baby Sister's name. I knew he had really come around when he leaned over to talk to my belly and called her by name!

Once we had the name set and the wall letters bought, we decided it would be okay to tell our family and friends. We pictured it to be much easier this time because instead of saying, "We like X, Y, and Z", we said, "Her name will be _____".

So bloggers, her name will be....

RIP Adorable Tree

Yesterday during Brooke's "nap" I heard an awful ripping sound coming from her room. I thought she was sleeping so it was quite the surprise. At first I thought maybe she was ripping her blinds down (which we have been anxiously awaiting for her to discover) so I went sprinting to her room, which looked more like a fast waddle at 31 weeks pregnant. I found her standing at her door with her tree decal waded into a ball. She looked up at me and immediately went into a babble filled summary of what happened. I put her back in her bed and inspected the damage only to learn it was irreparable.

Here is a picture of the tree in all it's glory.

And here is a picture of the tree destroyer.

31 Weeks!

I apologize for the crappy mirror shot but that is all I can provide this week. We didn't have a chance to take a picture this weekend and let's face it, by the time I get ready and put on normal clothes again it will be time for my 32 week picture. So sorry 31 weeks, you have been shammed.

How far along? 31 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 25ish pounds? I had an OB appointment on Friday and my doctor took a look back at my chart for Brooke. I am gaining the same exact weight with each appointment, so I can expect to land around 35 pounds again.

Maternity clothes? I need some. Bad. But money is kind of tight when it comes to our clothing budget so Dustin's tshirts will have to do. In the picture I am wearing a baggy shirt I got at Old Navy for sweat pant days (which is Mon-Fri) and you can clearly see how it is pulling away from my body.

Sleep: I sleep like a rock, only waking to use the bathroom once so far!

Best moment this week: The weather is finally starting to look like it may stay nice. The sun is shining and it is in the 70s!

Food cravings: Cupcakes. Odd.

Gender: Girl

Movement: Her movements are starting to hurt. Every night she decides a new position is in order and it feels like her little feet might actually pop through my belly.

What I am looking forward to: Getting the nursery finished.

What I miss: Non-swollen feet.

Changes

I decided to redo my blog today. What do you think?

Photobucket

Still Here

No, I did not disappear.... or run away from my messy house screaming, never to be seen again. I feel as though each week that my due date gets closer I get busier and busier! There are not enough weekends to complete everything we want to get done before baby sister's arrival.

We have a nursery to decorate, a basement to organize, our carpets need cleaned... and not to mention the fact that our master closet experienced a small clothing explosion this winter and we have yet to sort through the destruction. Also, the nesting portion of my pregnant self wants to deep clean the whole house before July. I mean, get up on the step ladder and dust the fan and air vents deep clean. Because who does THAT on a regular basis?

Not I!

I think I may need to start an excel spreadsheet....
