Back in February I made a post with some ideas for Brooke's big girl room. Some things have changed but I think it came together nicely. Her room is not 100% done but I think it is picture ready! We decided to keep the green from her nursery even though I would have rather painted. I could change room around once a month though so Dustin has to keep me in check.
Here it is! I had the owl painting lower but Brooke was able to stand on her bed and try and pull it down, so up it went!
Reading corner Her bed with all of her lovies, pacifiers, and her favorite book. We actually don't use the comforter or pillows yet, we use the blankets at the end of the bed. I made it just for the pictures.
I turned around and Brooke had snuck into the reading corner, so proof she uses it. :)

Dresser
Her horrible unorganized closet. I actually wish she had less closet and more wall space. Crazy, I know?!

The toddler bed is made by Dream On Me and I ordered it from Amazon. The bedding, decals, wall art, and decorative pillow are all apart of the Love & Nature collection at Target. The dresser is made by Sauder and we were lucky to get a steal on it during a going out of business sale. The book shelf was Dustin's when he was a baby. The chair is from Pottery Barn Kids.
Maternity clothes? None in this picture but I desperately need them! My shirts look funky. Thankfully Dustin just brought up a box of old maternity clothes from the basement so I am going to sort them tomorrow.
Sleep: Great! Even Brooke is sleeping in her big girl bed soundly.
Best moment this week: I need to omit this question because I have my second glucose screening since they messed up the first one.
Food cravings: Mexican
Gender: Girl
Movement: Lots of rolling around in there!
What I am looking forward to: Getting the nursery finished.
We have officially taken Brooke's crib out of her room and replaced it with her toddler bed! She is taking her first nap in it right now but she has already slept two full nights in it. We were nervous at first but it doesn't seem as though her sleep pattern is changing because of it, so I would call this mission a success! Last night Dustin did need to sit next to her bed and rub her back until she fell asleep but she thankfully slept until 7:45am as usual! It is the cutest thing too because when she wakes up in the morning she walks over to her door and knocks until we come to get her.
Here are some pictures of her toddler bed, just not in her room. I set it all up in the nursery so she could see her new bed. We have since swapped furniture. When her big girl room is complete I promise a full picture tour for you!
I am working on renovating my blog so don't be alarmed if the background changes multiple times over the weekend. I am even tempted to give in and pay a small amount for a sweet design.
Is it really Thursday already? I always told myself I would blog every other day but days are starting to feel like hours, and I know it was February just yesterday. Where is time going in such a hurry?
Total weight gain/loss: 23 lbs. Excuse me while I go faint...
Maternity clothes? Sometimes. In the picture above I am wearing a maternity top but the jeans are pre-pregnancy with a bella band. My only issue is that the pants are open so far down the zipper that they are starting to fall down! I think I need to stick to strictly maternity pants from now on.
Sleep: Is going okay. It isn't baby sister's fault, it is Brooke's fault for waking up at 3am the past three nights in a row!
Best moment this week: Our ultrasound!
Food cravings: Chocolate!
Gender: Girl
Movement: We learned at our ultrasound that she is head down and spread out straight up, so that would explain the constant painful kicks to my ribs!
What I am looking forward to: Getting the nursery finished. What I miss: Being about to bend over comfortably.
I will make sure to do a picture post on Monday for my 29th week, but I wanted to do an update on my OB appointment that I had yesterday. It sure was an interesting one! When I scheduled this appointment two weeks ago I knew I would not only be having the normal check up but an ultrasound and the glucose test as well.
It all seemed to work out perfectly. I drank the lovely orange syrup as soon as I got there, had my ultrasound (more on this in a minute), met with my doctor, and was ready for my blood draw. The nurse stuck my "good" vein once and collapsed it. She then called in another nurse who stuck me two more times and on the third time, I almost passed out. They had to lean me back with cold compresses on my forehead and give me apple juice to drink. The best part about all of this is that since they couldn't get my blood, I get to go back and do it all over again in 2 weeks.
Now on to the ultrasound. At my 19 week anatomy scan they found a cyst on baby girl's brain and even though they almost always go away they wanted to check back on it. I am happy to say that the cyst is gone! It was really exciting to get to see her again, especially since she looks much more like a baby at this point. They estimated that she weighs 3lbs 4oz (even though it could be off) and that she is in the 90% for her gestational age. Because of this, and the fact that Brooke was 7lbs almost four weeks early, my OB told me that if I make it full term they will do a growth ultrasound to check her size. They were also able to see that she has hair! Brooke was born with a head of hair so I am not surprised to hear this.
Today Brooke is officially 18 months old. Well, for another hour or so. We had to run some errands this morning but we made the most of our afternoon because it got up to 80 degrees outside! While Brooke took her usual 2 hour nap I set up her sprinkler pool, took her new climber outside, and opened up some fun summer toys. The moment she woke up she was inh her bathing suit and out the door! Here are some pictures from our afternoon...
Okay, so technically Brooke isn't 18 months until tomorrow but I plan on doing a picture filled post and thought a written one would be good too. I remember being so excited when Brooke turned 6 months. She was half a year and all the newborn woes made those first months feel like years. I am amazed at how fast 18 months came upon us.
Brooke is learning a lot of new words with each and every day! I will try to list what she says but I am losing track...
Uh oh, dog, Jake, Mommy, Daddy, Papa, Pabi (Paci) Bye bye (sometimes followed by Mommy or Daddy), Hi, Cow, Moo, Baa, Peas (Please), Milk, Done, Car, Beep beep, Sissy, Baby, Up, Go, No, Oh wow <--- my personal favorite. She will also repeat almost anything you say to her but can't really put it into context yet.
She loves to kiss my belly and can call her sister by name! Although it isn't perfect I still think it is darling. Every morning she greets me by jumping in her crib like it is a trampoline, which I find mainly funny but a little terrifying. She runs, jumps, and climbs all day long and sometimes barely stops to eat. She loves to be outside and throws a fit when I need to bring her in.
She loves to give us "real" kisses. I say real because they are actually closed mouth now instead of open mouthed slobbery kisses. She is a big cuddle bug and is turning into quite the sensitive little girl. She is very good about sharing her toys and playing with others but so far most of her friends are pretty possessive of their toys. When someone takes a toy from her she just looks at me with big eyes and her bottom lip stuck out. It breaks my heart!
Brooke is turning 18 months this week so look for a post on that!
How far along? 28 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Around 20lbs still. I think I am hitting a growth spurt though because I am never full, so it may be up a lot by my appointment Friday.
Maternity clothes? I can actually still wear my pre pregnancy jeans with a bella band but I am wearing maternity pants as well. I also wear maternity tops.
Sleep: I sleep like a rock!
Best moment this week: Enjoying the beautiful weather with Dustin and Brooke.
Food cravings: I eat at least one bowl of Lucky Charms every day.
Gender: Girl
Movement: I seriously think she is running out of room. All of her movements are her rolling around. She also loves to stick her feet right up in my ribs, which does not feel good!
What I am looking forward to: Our ultrasound on Friday! I can't wait to see baby girl again!
What I miss: Being able to bend over easily
Milestones: I am officially in my third trimester! The last leg of pregnancy...
Total weight gain/loss: Around 20lbs. I feel huge and disgusting. 20lbs is what my OB asked me to gain total. And I have 13 weeks left.
Maternity clothes? I look horrible in everything, I promise... but maternity pants are super comfy!
Sleep: Sleeping well, I don't even wake up to use the restroom yet.
Best moment this week: Easter with Brooke (I know this isn't pregnancy related but it really was a blast)
Food cravings: Chocolate!
Gender: Girl
Movement: Her movements are more like rolls, but they are off and on through out the day. She is mainly low but every now and then I get a kick in the ribs and boy does that hurt!
What I am looking forward to: Our ultrasound next week
What I miss: My body
Milestones: I am officially in my third trimester! The last leg of pregnancy...
I do all of my blogging, facebooking, picture editing, etc on my college laptop. It is still working just fine, thankfully, but I have sort of run out of space for pictures and such. I do have an external hard drive but I managed to fill that as well! Dustin has an iMac in his "office" (our bedroom) that we recently decided I would upload and edit all of our pictures on it.
Let me tell you, I am awful with Macs. I have no idea what I am doing and have to call Dustin into the room every 5 minutes to either help me find something or undo something I did wrong. I have some great Easter pictures, plus my 27 week belly picture, to show you... I just don't know how yet!
Brooke and I have been outside a lot this week with the beautiful weather. Today I was even able to put her in shorts and a t-shirt while we played outside! Me on the other hand, I will not be wearing shorts any time soon. Here are some pictures from our day.

Brooke
Also known as Brookie or Boo. She is a sassy, fashionable 3 year old with a love for all things pink. She is into Princesses, painting her nails, and putting on pretend make up. She likes to pick out her clothes each morning and which shoes she'll wear. She is also my sweet and sensitive girl, and loves a good cuddle at night.
Molly
The newest addition to our family! Our little Molly Moo is learning and growing by the day. She has stunning blue eyes that she got from her Nonna, and everything else comes straight from her Daddy. She is such a flirt and will smile at anyone who glances in her direction. She may look just like Dustin but she is definitely a Mommy's girl. She always finds me in a room of people just to make sure I am still there.
