Movement

When I was pregnant with Brooke I did not feel her move until I was 21-22 weeks along. It was a little longer after that before Dustin or I could feel her movement on the outside. Well, I have been feeling this baby for a couple weeks now and a few nights ago the movement felt awfully strong. This baby is quite the kicker! I decided to investigate and spent some time observing my belly. And just like that, I SAW the baby kick. I watched as the skin below my belly button jutted out for a moment and then back in. I am only 17 weeks so this is all new to me compared to last time, but I love it!

16 Week Belly

As I was getting dressed this morning I looked in the mirror and thought, "Hey, maybe I do have a little bump". So I took a picture just for you! Especially those who are waiting until the end to vote in the gender poll.

16 Weeks

Now that the sickness is finally working its way out of our home, I have time to write a quick entry. This week I am 16 weeks pregnant! Time is flying by but at the same time the end result seems forever away. The next big step is the big ultrasound so I am looking forward to that.

Sorry no pictures, I really don't look pregnant... I promise.

Pregnancy: 16 weeks

Weight Gain: So far the doctor has me at 2 pounds up, but it is more like 4 or 5. :) My appetite has been insane this past week so I am sure it will be much more at my next visit.

Sleep: Still doing great, and I can still sleep on my belly! I am going to cherish it as long as I can.

Gender: We find out February 5th!

Name: Still a secret.

Feeling: I feel great physically but I feel disgusting at the same time. I hate to use that word but I feel like my hips and thighs decided to grow bellies with me!

Health: Still doing great! Last doctor visit I had perfect blood pressure and good weight gain.

Movement: I am starting to feel much more movement but it isn't consistent like it will be in a few weeks. Every now and then I feel a little pop!

Belly: It definitely sticks out but I don't look "pregnant". I think I just look like I put on a bunch of weight, so imagine my dislike to having to put a bathing suit on next week!

Next Appointment: February 5th! I'll be 18 weeks and we are having the big ultrasound done!

Sick Girl

Sorry I have been MIA since Tuesday! Brooke has been sick on and off since Monday and is still recovering. Her fever was up to 103.4 on Thursday and I had to take the week off from babysitting to take care of her. We thought she was getting better over the weekend and even went to a children's museum since her fever had been gone 24 hours. Sure enough, we get home that night and she threw up. She also threw up last night at some point and needed a bath first thing this morning! Oh the joys of parenthood.

Static Electricity

Poor Brooke has been sick and I took today off babysitting to take care of her. She was running a fever and when she wasn't sleeping, she was cuddled up watching movies with me. I enjoy the cuddle time but I hope she is feeling much better soon.

I did manage to catch one fun, smiley picture of her this morning. And it may just be in my top ten favorite pictures!

Snoop

Giant Bow

I don't get bows or headbands onto Brooke much anymore because she immediately pulls them out. Yesterday, however, she decided that she was okay with wearing something on her head!

14 Week Appointment

I had an appointment with the OB today and it went great! I met with one of my favorite doctors in the practice which is always a good day. I will say I was so nervous about getting on the scale after all the food I enjoyed this holiday season. BUT I am happy to report that I did not gain a pound. Not even an ounce! I weigh the exact same as I did 4 weeks ago and both the nurse and the doctor asked me what my secret is. Um, eating?

He found the heart beat immediately and the little babe, that the doctor dubbed a "her", was moving all over the place! I can even feel movement now which is one of my favorite parts of being pregnant.

Mark your calendars. Big ultrasound is scheduled for February 5th!

Cuteness

Today I will talk about the "cuteness" that is Brooke. I would include some pictures fill with extra cuteness but I have a virus on my computer that is messing with my browser.

"Uh oh"- Even though these two words are normally followed by the dropping or breaking of something, it is still adorable to here her say. In fact, it makes us smile so much that she says it even when there is no cause to. She often says it when I enter her room after she has woken up, or when she has disappeared for a few minutes. Sometimes this gives makes me think twice about what she could have done that I am not seeing.

Mirroring- Brooke is getting to an age where she will attempt to copy our actions. Dustin is notorious for playing "air drums" in the car and head banging (he's all mine ladies!) and many times you can turn around in the car to see her head banging and moving her arms.

Dancing- Music could be playing for a fraction of a second and Brooke will start dancing. You have seen videos on here before of her dancing, and she is just getting better with age! She has better rhythm and movement than most people my age.

"Ahhh"- When Brooke found interest in our dog I would pet him gently and say, "Ahhhh puppy". The last thing I wanted was for her to start hitting him and pulling his tail and then not being able to break her of it. Now whenever Jake is in arms reach for her -- which isn't often, smart dog -- she gently pets him and says "Ahhh". You really have to hear it, maybe someday soon!

There is really much more but I will stop before I become the non-stop bragging mom you run into in the grocery store. You know, the ones with the "honor student" bumper stickers.

14 Weeks

There it is, my first belly picture. I promise there is a little something there! Do you see it? The little bump sticking over my pants? When it gets more obvious that I am actually pregnant and not suffering the after effect of holiday eating, I will have Dustin take better pictures.

How far along? 14 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: Well, at the last doctor's appointment I was up 2 pounds but I would not be surprised if I am up to almost 5 this week. I really destroyed the food platters this holiday season.

Maternity clothes? I attempted a pair of maternity jeans the other day but they were too baggy. The first time I wear jeans after the wash I need to rubber band them together but then they get lose enough to wear. Soon enough!

Sleep: I can't get enough of it!

Best moment this week: I have an appointment on Friday

Food cravings: I am all over the place. Yesterday I had to have Reb Robin for lunch, and Sunday I was all about Buffalo Wild Wings!

Gender: We'll see...

What I am looking forward to: Finding out the gender!

What I miss: Margaritas.

Milestones: Sometimes I swear I am feeling movement, but I can't decide if it is too early or not. I didn't feel Brooke until 21 weeks and I am so small still!

Project 365

I have decided to participate in Project 395 and take pictures every day. I will get on here sometime each night and post my favorite picture over on my Project 365 Blog. I know I am starting a little late, but better now than never.

Christmas and New Years

NOTE: Pictures are not uploading right now so I will try again tomorrow!

A few days ago I wrote a whole post on Christmas, and even began uploading pictures for all to see. Somewhere in the midst of uploading I accidentally clicked a tab and POOF, there went blogger. Of course it happened just as we were headed out the door and then the busy weekend ensued... so here I am now!

Christmas was spent with Dustin's family this year and we had a blast! We started out the morning by opening gifts just between our little family and then headed to his parents house for the day. Brooke was pretty unimpressed with gifts but she did pretty well with helping to open them. Her favorite gift did not come until Sunday when my parents arrived from Philly. They got her a stroller for her baby doll and she loves to push it all over the house.

New Years Eve we headed down to the Nycz's house for a get together. Chris and Dustin played baseball together at Taylor so he was glad to see some of his former teammates. Brooke spent the night at Dustin's parents house so we were able to have a great time with out chasing her around. She actually spent Friday night as well, and then Saturday while we attended a wedding, but we did see her each day.
